Leonardo Valentini returns to the Milan catwalks

LEONARDOVALENTINI, the creative project of the homonymous designer born in Rome, returns to the Milan catwalks a year after its debut. Its presence confirms the partnership and support of the international event that sees his return to Lineapelle Designers Edition on February 27th , 2025 with a new collection and an intimate manifesto, entitled CRUDELIO FABIOLA.

The collection develops from the designer’s elaboration of mourning. The loss of Fabiola, and the sadness she left behind, has allowed him to transform suffering into art by declining it in various forms: from the garments worn on the catwalk dedicated to her, to the poem that bears her name.

The collection was preceded by a short film and interview of Leonardo Valentini released on 8 January (the designer’s date of birth), which recounts his creative journey. Built on a bivalent theme, balanced between the fairytale of excess and the cruelty of life, he manages to translate the story told into fashion by using fine leathers, embroideries, studs and furs as the predominant elements. The collection will also present a brand-new print pattern with stains, to represent the dirtyness of the soul and echoing the name of the collection.

LEONARDOVALENTINI has always carried on a strong link with the world of music from which he draws inspiration on a daily basis: continuing to dress internationally renowned artists from Irama to Maneskin, from Rose Villain to Chiello and even Lenny Kravitz, music is the link between each of the looks he creates. After last year’s performance with Animaux Formidables, LEONARDOVALENTINI renews its connection with the world of music and performance by accompanying the show with an exclusive performance by singer SETHU accompanied by guitarist and brother Jiz. Accompanied by guitarist and brother Jiz. Sethu, known to the general public thanks to his participation in Sanremo 2023, is one of the most promising and beloved artists from Gen Z, thanks to his well-defined musical and aesthetic world that ranges from restlessness to euphoria: a mood that does not need to be labeled in a precise genre converging into a fluid style full of contaminations.

It is precisely from the collaboration established over the years with IRAMA, for whom Leonardo has created many looks for the most important stages – from those of the biggest Italian arenas to the Sanremo Music Festival – that the collection has developed a parallel path. A path realised together with Irama, with whom creative contamination is the real wealth. In fact, from November 2024, they have created together the Irama Official Merch™, a project with exclusive drops that will accompany the dates of his tour throughout Italy. Exclusively for the February 2025 fashion show at Lineapelle Designers Edition, some special pieces are integrated into the LEONARDOVALENTINI main collection and brought to the catwalk, in a unique dialogue in which fashion, music and art intertwine.

On the creative process, the designer says: “KINDNESS IS PUNK is the key to understanding the collection, because just like artists’ albums each collection I present is a consequence, a necessity and could not exist without the previous one because it feeds on an identity presented evolving from year to year just like a child. I think this is the reason why I hate to call it Brand: in brands one thinks of the future by conceiving past collections as already old, my need to present new ones is part of a personal need of mine and not a commercial necessity”.

Leonardo’s creative team, not only trusted friends but also creatives and absolute professionals, contributed to the realisation of the collection and fashion show: designer Bianca Beltramello did the prints of the garments, stylist Francesco Mautone took care of the image of the looks, photographer Lorenzo Galli shot the campaign collection photos and videos, the teaser and backstage video of Alessio Esposto, the casting handled by Gigi e the lookbook by Roberto Autori, assistant Elena Frasca. In addition, the question Leonardo and Christian Bianconi (Pedsan) asked themselves, was whether it was possible to combine fashion and comfort together on the catwalk: the answer was in the creation of a special footwear realized together, for the first time making the models walk on the catwalk with 3D-made insoles.

As a final novelty, a QR link will be open on the social channel and website during the show. For the day of the show only, a selection of limited edition products anticipating the collection will be available for purchase at a special price. Leonardo Valentini, founder of the eponymous brand LEONARDOVALENTINI, was born in Rome and makes education the central pivot of his training. He believes that only in this way does one have the freedom to be able to transgress in a conscious manner. With a degree in fashion and a master’s degree from the Polimoda institute in Florence, he launched the LEONARDOVALENTINI brand in 2021 with the ‘Eroticangelo’ collection, an aesthetic and visceral project that inaugurates a passionate path of experimentation in constant mutation.
