Beauty arises when things that seem to be incompatible manage to coexist without cancelling each other out. Nothing exists without its opposite. It is the opposites that create balance.
Earth and flesh mingle upon contact. The petricore returns its scent to the air.
It is raining, yet the sun shines. Sunsets brush against sunrises where birds dance upon the waves. The sea.
Only man stands still. Going barefoot is a way of feeling your true self and essence. Of thinking about running away across the scorched pavement. Heat and cold. Parched and frozen earth that creeps up to your knees.
Breaking free from defences: the body rediscovers its connection to its roots, embraces vulnerability, becomes a seed and blossoms anew in the world. As long as contact with the ground reminds us where we come from. It brings us back to earth. It forces us to feel the ground and its roughness.
Flesh that becomes body that becomes soul that becomes essence. It becomes origin: ‘Peace is not the absence of conflict. It is the ability to make opposites coexist without destroying one another.’ Everything is in contrast.
Everything is the opposite of everything else. Like me. Like us. Like life. And here, body and matter dance together. That which is born indivisible becomes infinite in this encounter. The edges of the garments are blackened and frayed, as if after a long journey. They are the mark of time that reconciles history.
An invitation to go back outside. To walk without a destination.
To lose oneself.
To find oneself again.
To meet one another
To live in the world rather than merely observe it.
Categories touch each other and lose their boundaries, because it is the human being who is the sole horizon.
Fashion becomes balance. And if all this is true, escape is the only way we have to return to ourselves.
