As part of a concerted focus on strengthening its relationship with the UK creative and cultural industry CPHFW will on 30 May 2025 hold three showings at the V&A within the Raphael Court featuring the collections of five designers – four being part of the CPHFW NEWTALENT programme including Alectra Rothschild / Masculina, Berner Kühl, Bonnetje and Stamm, and one being the 2024 recipient of the Wessel & Vett Fashion Prize, Stem.

Through the global spotlight of the V&A Fashion in Motion series, which has platformed iconic British and international designers to the public since 1999, the five designers will present six key looks that embody their vision and encompass their dedication to creative craft and expression.

Speaking of the collaboration, Cecilie Thorsmark notes: “The Victoria & Albert Museum is a cultural bedrock of the British creative industry, so being able to showcase rising talent from Denmark through the seminal activation of V&A Fashion In Motion is an exceptional opportunity. Through presenting four of our CPHFW NEWTALENT designers alongside the recipient of the 2024 Wessel & Vett Fashion Prize I hope we can paint a strong visual of the vast talent our small nation is cultivating, and build stronger bridges between our burgeoning creative industries.”

Oriole Cullen, V&A Senior Curator, Fashion and Textiles said: “Fashion in Motion gives us the opportunity to work with incredible practitioners from around the world. We’re delighted to partner with Copenhagen Fashion Week, showcasing the work of emerging Nordic designers for our Museum visitors.”

Fashion in Motion: Copenhagen Fashion Week shall be held on 30 May 2025 at the V&A within the Raphael Court.

About the V&A Fashion in Motion: Copenhagen Fashion Week Designers

Alectra Rothschild / Masculina is a brand built on the notions of craftsmanship, femininity, and high glamour. Rothschild views clothing as a powerful tool for change and expression, capable of making bold political statements.) Alectra Rothschild / Masculina is a recipient of CPHFW NEWTALENT.

Berner Kühl is built on the examination of concepts such as utility, nature and serenity – expressing a sense of emotion, without being dramatic. Aiming to create an inspirational package around a product that in itself should be able to stand alone. Berner Kühl is a recipient of CPHFW NEWTALENT.

Bonnetje specializes in cutting up old suits and reassembling the pieces into new silhouettes. By reusing defunct materials, they contribute to the search for fashion beyond the current throwaway society. Their focus extends to past, present, and future sustainable practices. Bonnetje does not aim to pioneer a brand new style but offers their perspective on the emerging movement of circularity within fashion. Bonnetje is a recipient of CPHFW NEWTALENT.

Stamm’s main characteristic is the dualism that can be found in different forms, such as strong vs sensitive, high fashion with a low key approach, truck vs couture, calm vs dynamic. Stamm is a recipient of CPHFW NEWTALENT.

Stem is an industry changing approach to how clothing is made. Our novel zero-waste woven textile system eliminates garment production waste. A Stem garment is made from (recycled) natural fibres and produced using our unique weaving, cutting and sewing technique. Stem is a recipient of the Wessel & Vett Fashion Prize.
