Antonio Marras, the renowned Italian fashion designer and creative director of Calzedonia, has once again demonstrated that fashion is more than simply garments; it is also about history, emotions, and art. His most recent collection for the fall 2025 season is a trip back in time to the nineteenth century, inspired by the previously unknown melodrama “La Bella di Alghero”.

Marras’ work is defined by a blend of classic elegance and artistic narrative, and the exhibition in an empty industrial area allowed for complete focus on the exquisite details of his creations. Marras’ collection celebrates femininity, sensuality, and sophistication via black and fitted silhouettes.
Black sensuality and tailored silhouettes
It is dominated by fitting fashions that emphasize the silhouette, such as pencil skirts with a high slit, bras used as styling components, and highly embroidered jackets. The designer chose a unified colour scheme dominated by deep black, a symbol of everlasting beauty.
This collection’s distinctive identity stems from its materials and textures. Marras expertly employs contrasts, pairing transparencies with soft velvets, embroidery with appliqués, and glittering sequins with traditional tweed. Structural overlays, patches, and patchwork features give depth and dynamics, highlighting the drama derived from theatrical narrative.
Fashion as art: drawings, flowers, and patchwork
Marras, an artist by trade, incorporated pictorial aspects into his collection; his drawings, sketches, and brushstrokes appeared on column dresses, lending them a personal, almost intimate feel. In contrast, delicate chiffon dresses embellished with lovely flower designs lent lightness and fleeting poetry to the collection.
Patchwork buildings, Marras’ signature, were also evident. The designer boldly combines classic patterns like the Prince of Wales check, delicate pinstripes, herringbone, and rich brocades. Such pairings provide depth and complexity to the collection while showcasing his work’s distinct look.
Masculine version with floral accents
Although the collection concentrated mostly on the female silhouette, Marras did not overlook men’s fashions. Bomber jackets with lovely floral embroidery, worn with casual slacks, demonstrate how men’s fashion can blend classic forms with decorative elements. Marras aggressively incorporates flowery motifs into men’s clothing, breaking trends and reinventing the image of male elegance.
Sharon Stone as Marras’ muse
Sharon Stone’s appearance at the performance was quite unexpected, as she made a dramatic entrance. Marras did not hide his admiration for the actress; in the corridors, he discussed their artistic relationship, exchange of sketches, and inspirations. The designer admires Stone not only for her acting abilities, but also for her natural beauty and genuineness, stating, “Without makeup, she is radiant. And she is gentle, compassionate, and down to earth.”
The return of “La Bella di Alghero”?
Marras’ presentation pays homage to classical beauty while also referencing history and neglected masterpieces of art. The designer has disclosed that he is considering remounting the melodrama “La Bella di Alghero” in Italy. Will he invite Sharon Stone to participate? This topic remains unclear, but one thing is certain: Marras continues to merge fashion with storytelling, giving his collections a distinct, almost cinematic quality.
Antonio Marras has once again demonstrated that fashion is theater of emotions, history, and art. His collection for the autumn 2025 season is a sensual, dramatic, yet subtle portrayal of female power and mystery. A story resounded in an empty industrial building, leaving a lasting impression on the fashion industry.
