Alexi Lubomirski and PAFF present young fashion photography

The Polish-American Fashion Foundation is holding a fashion event in New York for the third time. In October 2017, an exhibition of young Polish fashion photography YOUNG POLAND, curated by Alexei Lubomirski, is presented. The exhibition will feature photographic works by leading Polish fashion photographers of the younger generation: Zuza Krajewska, Bartek Wieczorek, Sonia Szóstak, Mateusz Stankiewicz, Łukasz Ziętek, Jacek Kołodziejski, Paweł Fabjański, Kuba Dąbrowski and Ania Cywińska

The Polish American Fashion Foundation (PAFF) contacted me to see if I would help edit and curate a show comprised of young Polish fashion photographers. The idea behind the show was to give young Polish photographers a platform in New York in order to showcase their work to an American audience. Out of all the photographers who entered their work I chose nine who I felt shared a similar voice, which was fresh, relevant and very much of today. In this day and age, with the rise of the “social media” photographer and when there is so much competition for work, it is more important than ever for people in the industry like myself, to reach down, pull up and champion the next generation of “real” photographers; photographers who understand the art of photography and appreciate its depth of purpose. It is therefore my immense pleasure to be able to use any influence that I have to help these photographers who will lead the way in the very near future and who represent YOUNG POLAND. – Alexi Lubomirski, New York, September 2017

The originator and organizer of the event is the Polish-American Fashion Foundation (PAFF), a nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote Polish fashion and Polish design, broadly defined, on the American market. The foundation’s goal is not only to promote the names of Polish artists and their art, but also to strengthen their brands in the American, mainly New York, fashion market. PAFF carries out the promotion of Polish fashion and art by enabling Polish artists to present their works on the foreign market and helping to create a network of contacts that includes people associated with the broader world of fashion and culture in the United States.
