New York fashion brand, Hiromi Asai, has been creating men’s fashion exclusively with Japanese Kimono textiles since 2017. Designer Hiromi Asai first presented authentic Kimonos at New York Fashion Week in 2016, and the brand has since gained international acclaim through shows at Pitti Uomo, New York, Miami, and Paris. On Sunday, September 14, 2025, Hiromi Asai will unveil its Spring/Summer 2026 men’s collection, “Black, Born from Light,” at New York Fashion Week with Flying Solo designers

Collection theme
The Spring/Summer 2026 collection, “Black, Born from Light,” explores the profound dialogue between light and darkness. Focused on black and gray tones, the lineup is animated with golden cranes soaring with vitality and dragons flowing among clouds.
The concept reflects the sanctity of life: every existence shines like a star, each one a form of light. Because light exists, black is revealed not as emptiness but as the infinite universe. This collection reimagines black as cosmic, dignified, and full of meaning, transformed through Kimono textiles into contemporary menswear.
Designer comment
“Black is often seen as emptiness, but for me, it is the space where light reveals its beauty. With this collection, I wanted to show that every life is a spark of light, and that black is the universe shaped by this brilliance,” said Hiromi Asai. “Kimono textiles carry centuries of tradition, and by reinterpreting them, we connect Japanese artisanship with the future of global fashion.”
