Princess Diana’s style at auction: Julien’s Auctions features legendary royal styles

Julien’s Auctions has announced one of the most anticipated events of the season: the “Princess Diana’s Style and Royal Collection” auction, which will be held on June 26 at the famous Peninsula Beverly Hills hotel. This is an exceptional opportunity to examine not only Princess Diana’s iconic style, but also that of other members of the British royal family.

Over 300 unusual pieces will be on show, many of which have never been made available to the public before. Some of the most notable pieces on display are:

  • A 1986 Catherine Walker Falcon evening gown (valued between $200,000 and $300,000),
  • A floral day dress by Bellville Sassoon from 1988.
  • Diana wore a three-piece Escada suit in a classic photograph.
  • A scarlet HEAD ski suit.
  • Accessories include John Boyd’s peach honeymoon hat and the renowned lambskin Lady Dior handbag.

But that is not all. The sale will also include artifacts from other members of the British monarchy, including Queen Elizabeth II, Princess Margaret, the Queen Mother, and the Duke and Duchess of Windsor. Among the most valuable exhibits include:

  • Norman Hartnell created a fashion graphic featuring Princess Margaret.
  • A vintage bracelet of diamonds and natural pearls,
  • The Duchess of Windsor’s Givenchy outfit.

Elizabeth Emanuel, the co-designer of Diana’s famed wedding gown, also contributed to the event. The designer offered a selection of artifacts and sketches from her own collection. “Diana’s classic beauty and style continue to inspire. “I am honored to share these memories with the world,” Emanuel stated.

The auction also includes a charitable component: a portion of the revenues from the sale of Diana-related objects will be donated to Muscular Dystrophy UK, which supports the fight against muscular dystrophy, as a memorial to the princess’ charitable work.

Julien’s Auctions is well-known for its record-breaking sales; in 2023, it sold Diana’s evening gown for $1.14 million, and in 2024, a pair of her shoes for $390,000. Martin Nolan, a co-founder of the auction house, emphasizes:

This auction honors Diana’s elegance and enduring cultural influence.

Previews will be conducted in New York, London, and Los Angeles prior to the auction. Registration and online bidding are now available at juliensauctions.com. This is an amazing must-see for anyone interested in fashion, history, or the British monarchy’s legacy.
