Pierre Cardin’s collection for the fall-winter 2025-2026 season, presented at Paris Fashion Week, is a harmonious blend of futuristic vision and modern design. The main source of inspiration was the mysterious aura of the moon, which translated into cosmic forms, innovative materials and bold silhouettes that evoke fashion from another galaxy.

Pierre Cardin was a designer who was continuously looking to the future with his work, and his fashion was a daring vision of tomorrow, heavily influenced by space and science fiction. His ideas were daring and inventive, and his enthusiasm for space travel was palpable in every aspect. Cardin imagined that in the future, his garments would be a natural part of the space landscape.
The Pierre Cardin FW25/26 collection’s catwalk showcases visions inspired by space, science fiction, and modern construction forms, carrying on the brand’s founder’s futuristic tradition. The figure wears a futuristic, space-age ensemble reminiscent of sci-fi and superhero costumes. The outfit consists of shiny, black vinyl leggings and matching high-heeled boots in the same shining material. The upper section is an asymmetrical cape or coat in contrasting black and white; the right side of the garment is white and geometrically cut, while the left is black and loosely falling. A black visor-style eye mask and glittering textured materials round out the look, emphasizing the collection’s space and avant-garde spirit. The design nicely complements the idea of Pierre Cardin’s collection—travel into the future and space exploration.
The second model is dressed in a style inspired by the Moon’s surface, with the central feature being a plain, trapezoidal, stiff gray cloak or tunic in the shape of a traditional A-line dress. On its surface, there are circular applications that resemble craters, obviously referencing the space motif. Underneath, the model wears a black, fitting blouse with long sleeves and a slightly shiny texture, as well as shiny leggings or pants that enhance the outfit’s futuristic aspect. This styling is the epitome of an artistic rendition of science fiction in fashion. The design is enhanced with gigantic, black patent leather shoes that resemble current, trendy versions of astronaut shoes. Dark spectacles complete the ensemble, giving the figure an enigmatic, space-like appearance.
The third outfit is a classic example of toying with volume and form: the model wears a stunning round-cut poncho in vivid pink with geometric embroidery and a clearly defined hood. The styling was matched with shiny black leggings and enormous ankle boots, resulting in a striking visual contrast and dynamic silhouette.
The fourth style stands out with a stunning, opalescent cape with a holographic shine worn over a structured white coat with a high collar. The model’s head is adorned with a sparkling, navy blue helmet reminiscent of an astronaut’s uniform, emphasizing the collection’s space theme. This style is a manifesto for futuristic elegance, fusing modern technology with haute couture.
The fifth style is an intensely blue, structural jacket with an asymmetrical bottom and ornamental, vertical appliqué in fuchsia that evoke dynamic movements and futuristic building. Fitted pink trousers and classic black stilettos compliment the composition, giving a contrasted, bold style. In the background, the model wears a cape with a graphic cut – black with a prominent yellow accent – that references superhero and science fiction themes.
Do Cardin’s big forecasts about the future of fashion have any possibility of coming true? Will his futuristic style overtake our wardrobes? Only time will tell whether Pierre Cardin was as ahead of his time as he claimed.
